A waggle dance is a dance performed by forager bees within the colony to communicate the location of a resource or prospective hive location.
The direction of the dance relative to gravity communicates the bearing to the Sun (straight up indicates bearing straight towards the Sun). The length of the dance indicates the distance from the bee colony.
Similar to gravity and waggle cycles informing the operation of a hive, valuation and market price provide the signals for our investment process.
If you can’t already tell, I find honeybees fascinating.
If you’re interested, I recommend checking out the work of Dr. Tom Seeley, Professor in Biology at Cornell University. Seeley describes his scientific work, “…primarily focused on understanding the phenomenon of swarm intelligence (SI): the solving of cognitive problems by a group of individuals who pool their knowledge and process it through social interactions.”
